Türkiye's first packaged water brand, Pınar Water and Beverage, announced its sustainability goals within the scope of World Environment Day. The company, which has a "Zero Waste Certificate" in all its facilities, managed to reduce the use of plastic in its product groups by up to 12% in 2024, while aiming to reduce total carbon emissions by 20% by 2030.
Pınar Water and Beverage, which introduced packaged water to Türkiye for the first time in 1984, has been acting with a responsible management approach to ensure environmental sustainability for 40 years. The company has placed the principles of efficiency, fair sharing of resources, social equality, environmental health and ecosystem continuity at the center of its business model. Pınar Water and Beverage, within the scope of June 5 World Environment Day; It emphasizes that it observes a conservation-use balance in order to minimize the negative consequences of climate change effects on natural resources.
Pınar Water and Beverage announced that it reduced the amount of waste per unit production by 12% compared to the previous year, with the projects carried out in 2024. As a result of these projects, the amount of waste was reduced by 5% in Aydın Madran Facility, 2% in Bursa Uludağ Facility and 2.5% in Sakarya Gökçeağaç Facility.
Significant progress in reducing packaging waste
Pınar Water and Beverage, which has taken important steps not only in resource management but also in the goal of reducing waste at its source for a sustainable future, reduced its plastic usage per unit product by 11.9% in the 400 ml product group, 5.4% in the 1L product group and 3.7% in the 5L product group in 2024, compared to the previous year, as a result of the packaging optimization studies carried out during the year. In addition, it achieved efficient results in the aim of reducing waste at its source by reducing the use of secondary packaging materials by 9% in product shrink packaging and by 20% to 50% in pallet separators depending on product groups.
Strong steps for a sustainable future

In this context, a 2% reduction in greenhouse gas emission intensity compared to the previous year and packaging optimization in at least two product groups are among the main topics of the 2025 sustainability targets.

The company aims to reduce its total carbon emissions by 20% by 2030 compared to 2024.
