ORAL-B Takes Action for a Clean Marmara Sea

P&G's nature-inspired brand Oral-B contributes to reducing pollution in the Marmara Sea in cooperation with Watsons and ÇEVKO Foundation. As part of Environment Week and World Ocean Day, a team of more than 20 divers dived into the Marmara Sea off the coast of Ortaköy, Istanbul, and cleaned up plastic waste. The plastic wastes collected were received for recycling by Beşiktaş Municipality. This meaningful social responsibility project is realized with the contribution of consumers who purchase Oral B Pure Active products from Watsons stores.

P&G brand Oral-B, which focuses on improving the lives of consumers, gives strong support to the fight against plastic waste pollution in the Marmara Sea.

In this context, a team of more than 20 divers dived off the Ortaköy coast in Istanbul, within the scope of Environment Week and World Ocean Day, and cleaned the plastic waste in the sea. Divers made a live broadcast from under the sea, revealing the latest condition of the sea and showing the cleaning efforts.

Within the scope of the campaign implemented by Oral-B in cooperation with ÇEVKO Foundation (Environmental Protection and Packaging Waste Utilization Foundation) and Watsons, consumers who purchase Oral-B Pure Active product from Watsons stores will be able to contribute to this cleaning effort.

ÇEVKO Foundation Secretary General Mete İmer emphasized that the seas and oceans are polluted, one of the most important causes of this pollution is plastic waste and that action should be taken on this issue. Stating that companies that put plastic products on the market have started to act responsibly, İmer said, “Awareness and consumer awareness on this issue are at the forefront in the pollution of our seas, so we now see our world as more vulnerable due to the increasing population, decreasing resources and climate crisis. From now on, we are worried about whether we will be able to leave these days to future generations. These types of events are very important to raise awareness.
