Within the framework of the Green Economy Financing Fund of 53.5 million Euros provided by EBRD to TSKB, financing will be provided for technologies and services for green transformation, including energy efficiency and renewable energy, throughout Turkey.
TSKB (Turkish Industrial Development Bank) and EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) signed a new loan agreement supporting the green economy. Within the framework of the Green Economy Financing Fund (“GEFF”) with a total amount of 53.5 million Euros provided by EBRD to TSKB, financing will be provided for technologies and services that support the green economy in Turkey. The loan to be used within the scope of GEFF will also be supported by the Clean Technology Fund.
The loan aims to support green economy investments, including energy efficiency and renewable energy, made by companies across Turkey within the scope of combating climate change.
Evaluating the loan agreement signed with EBRD, TSKB General Manager Murat Bilgiç said, "For the effective management of climate-related risks and opportunities, it is critical for the real sector to transition to sustainable business models, which we refer to as green transformation. In this transition, impact-oriented development finance instruments enable a transformation that covers all sectors. We, as TSKB, play an effective role in this field with the sustainability criteria financing models we offer. We take our determined steps towards the green economy with our signature with our valuable business partner EBRD." "We are happy to provide additional resources for sustainable investments with this new loan agreement that strengthens the economy," he said.
EBRD Turkey Director Arvid Tuerkner said: "As EBRD, we are very pleased that TSKB is the first fund recipient within the scope of the innovative GEFF framework, which aims to improve the corporate climate governance practices of Turkish financial institutions and increase the sustainability of their activities, in addition to providing green financing to companies."
