ÇEVKO Foundation Secretary General Mete İmer: “We must take action together.”
At the opening of the online meeting, EGD High Advisory Board Chairman Celal Toprak emphasized the importance of "ÇEVKO Foundation Conversations" and gave the first word to ÇEVKO Foundation Secretary General Mete İmer. ÇEVKO Foundation Secretary General Mete İmer underlined that taking action is as essential as raising awareness:
"We continue to bring up the exemplary practices of ÇEVKO Foundation member companies in combating the climate crisis in cooperation with EGD. As we constantly emphasize, it is important to both raise awareness and take action on this issue. A study conducted by an international medical journal among young people between the ages of 18-25 reveals that the young generation feels helplessness, guilt, anxiety and anger against climate change. It is also said that climate change may cause some psychological problems. The solution lies in taking action. Collection of waste, deforestation of forests." It is reported that taking part in activities such as rehabilitation contributes to overcoming negative emotions such as helplessness, guilt, anger and anxiety in individuals. As ÇEVKO Foundation, we have carried out many actions such as beach cleaning and forest rehabilitation this year. The members we will listen to today are setting an example for other industrial organizations of our country with their exemplary work, and they are fulfilling a very important duty in terms of social responsibility. I would like to thank those who participated in our event and greet you with respect.”
