Nişantaşı Gets Fun with Smiling Recycling Boxes
22 May 2018Şişli Municipality and ÇEVKO signed a new and 'fun' collaboration to support the habit of separating waste at the source for recycling.
Recycling bins at 24 different points in Nişantaşı, located within the borders of Şişli Municipality, were decorated with recycling-themed cartoons specially prepared by cartoon artist Serkan Altuniğne, which make you smile and make you think. Cartoons carrying the message 'Waste Transforms, Şişli Becomes Beautiful' aim to draw more attention to recycling bins, which have an important function in terms of environmental sustainability. Smiling recycling bins will begin to add joy to life and value to recycling in Nişantaşı, starting with June 5, World Environment Day.
Emphasizing the importance of recycling for a sustainable environment, ÇEVKO Foundation Secretary General Mete İmer said, "This is a value chain. Within the scope of the project implemented in cooperation with Şişli Municipality and ÇEVKO Foundation, recycling money boxes decorated with cartoons signed by Serkan Altuniğne will serve at 24 different points in Nişantaşı as of June 5, World Environment Day.
