According to the statement made by the company, Şişecam continues its investments that add value to its geographies and stakeholders. The company fired the new glass packaging furnace it implemented in Eskişehir and the glassware furnace for which the cold repair was completed. As a result of these investments, the complex has become the world's largest glass production point with a consolidated capacity of approximately 1 million tons.
This scale created in the city is aimed to provide significant advantages in terms of efficient use of resources and operational efficiency.
Şişecam Chairman of the Board and Executive Member Prof., whose opinions were included in the statement. Dr. Ahmet Kırman stated that the glass packaging furnace, which they fired with an investment of approximately 145 million dollars, will provide additional employment for 127 people, and said, "The furnace, which will operate with an annual gross capacity of 198 thousand tons, will produce qualified bottles and jars. Şişecam has implemented this investment in an environment where global inflation and investment costs are increasing accordingly, to meet the increasing demand and support the growth of the sectors to which it provides input." He said.
Stating that the complex was established with 5 furnaces and 24 lines in a single campus, Kırman said, "The total glass packaging production capacity of the facility reached approximately 760 thousand tons gross annually. With the commissioning of the last investment, Şişecam's global glass packaging production capacity reached 3.3 million tons annually." He made the statement.
Şişecam General Manager Görkem Elverici pointed out that their investments were not limited to the glass packaging field and stated that they completed the cold repair of the second furnace in the production facility with an investment of approximately 29 million dollars.
Noting that the additional capacity obtained has taken the company to the world leadership in glassware production, Elverici said, "The renewed glassware furnace will provide service with an annual gross capacity of 64 thousand tons and provide additional employment for 246 people. Our glassware production capacity in Eskişehir has reached approximately 190 thousand tons gross annually." He made his assessment.
