Burger King implemented recycling practices in Caddebostan and Acıbadem branches within the scope of the "This Job Has a High Return" project launched in cooperation with ÇEVKO Foundation. Thanks to the recycling bins placed in restaurants, coffee cup lids, plastic spoons, ice cream containers and similar single-use plastics are collected separately and included in the recycling process. Burger King aimed to contribute to the protection of the environment and sustainability by recycling the waste collected in its branches through Kadıköy Municipality.

Taking a meaningful step in its sustainability journey, Burger King recycles plastic waste rather than throwing it away, with the recycling project implemented in cooperation with TAB Gıda and ÇEVKO Foundation. The project, which started with the motto 'This Job Has a Great Return', was first implemented in Caddebostan and Acıbadem branches.

Thanks to special recycling bins placed in the restaurant, single-use plastics such as coffee cup lids, plastic spoons and ice cream containers are recycled with the ease of separate collection. Waste collected separately in Burger King restaurants is delivered to Kadıköy Municipality at regular intervals and directed to recycling facilities. Thus, these wastes are reused and contribute to the protection of nature.

The special recycling bins located in Caddebostan and Acıbadem Burger King restaurants have a user-friendly design. Thanks to the explanatory visuals on them, “Which waste goes where?” The question is answered at first glance; Recycling is both easy and fun. While this practice is a meaningful step for adults who want to contribute to sustainability, it also contributes to the development of sustainability awareness for children. The positive feedback received from customers during the pilot application phase will enable the project to be expanded to other restaurants in a short time.

TAB Gıda CMO Caner Alpaslan stated that recycling is not only about the environment but also a social responsibility. "We are proud to take concrete steps for sustainability in our restaurants, where we host hundreds of thousands of people every day. Thanks to this practice, we contribute to the recycling of waste together with our guests and encourage an environmentally friendly lifestyle. We take responsibility, especially for the young generations to grow up with environmental awareness. The involvement of every segment of the society in this process plays a big role in making sustainable transformation permanent. At this point, Acting together with the ÇEVKO Foundation, which has been carrying out important work in the field of sustainability for many years, means a valuable collaboration for us. We are determined to transform our impact on the environment into sustainable solutions and create value for our common future by expanding such projects in our different restaurants in the coming period.” he said.

ÇEVKO Foundation Secretary General Mete İmer, Regarding the project realized in cooperation with Burger King and TAB Gıda, said, "Sustainability refers to a cycle that includes not only country governments and companies, but also individuals. Recycling is one of the most important components of this cycle, and the first step of this is the separate collection of waste at the source. Simple behavioral choices in our homes and at every point of our daily lives create very important value in this field. Environmental awareness and recycling for individuals and especially children." "Raising awareness has always been among our main priorities for our Foundation. We were happy to cooperate with Burger King, which is a part of the daily lives of millions of people in our country and around the world, and TAB Gıda, which brought this valuable brand to our country," he said.

This joint project, which is carried out with the motto "This Job Has a High Return", not only contributes to waste management, but also leads the way in reducing environmental impacts, supporting sustainability and strengthening recycling awareness in society.
