Not Waste, Value for the Environment and Economy

In the daily rhythm of modern life, we constantly produce packaging waste in our homes and workplaces. Glass jars, plastic beverage, yoghurt, detergent, shampoo containers, metal beverage cans and oil cans; paper-cardboard parcels, boxes, milk and fruit juice boxes made of composite materials or wooden packaging crates... Although all of these may seem like garbage when viewed unconsciously, it is actually possible to value them as resources that will contribute to the environment, economy and social development. The packaging of the products we use in our daily lives can be recycled into the economy as raw materials; In this way, both resource saving and environmental protection are achieved.

Recycling is a Process that Starts in Our Homes and Workplaces

ÇEVKO Foundation Secretary General Mete İmer said, "Recycling is a process that starts in our homes and workplaces. Ensuring the reuse of wastes as raw materials, that is, collecting our wastes separately for recycling, is among our responsibilities towards nature, the future and the country's economy. We can collect our recyclable wastes separately from other wastes, for example in the kitchen and bathroom. While collecting, removing the coarse dirt of the packaging waste and reducing their volume will increase the efficiency of collection and recycling. "We can give the recyclable waste we collect to the blue packaging waste bins in our neighborhood or to municipal officials in blue waste bags. If there are glass bins in our neighborhood, it is recommended that we only throw glass bottles and jars into them. If our municipality does not collect recyclable waste separately, that is, if it has not switched to a dual collection system, we should request this service from them because municipalities have been obliged to provide this service since 2005."

Supporter of Recycling Culture

Noting the importance of creating a recycling culture in society, Mete İmer said, "Since the day it was founded, ÇEVKO Foundation has been carrying out communication activities through the training of trainers in schools, information at homes and workplaces, special publications, children's theater events, and media, in order to educate and raise awareness of individuals. We believe that the educational videos we have prepared will also support the spread of recycling culture."
