Sütaş published its Sustainability Report, in which it explains its sustainability approach and the results of its activities in this field. Prepared in accordance with international GRI standards, the report also includes sustainability targets for 2025, when Sütaş will celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Sütaş, which operates with an integrated business model "From Farm to Table", shared with the public its 2020 Sustainability Report, which includes the results of its work in the "individual, society, environment" impact areas and its 2025 targets. Sütaş ensures the naturalness, taste and nutritional values ​​of its products with its integrated business model starting from plant production to fertilizer and energy production. Integrated facilities implemented with this model make significant contributions to the development of their regions with the economic and social impacts they create in their regions. Sütaş aims to recover the natural resources it uses; It meets its energy needs with the renewable energy it produces from the fertilizers and organic waste of its farms. It contributes to regenerative agriculture activities with the organic and organomineral fertilizers it produces. Sütaş is the strongest example in Turkey of the "European Union Green Deal - From Farm to Fork" strategy, which envisages ensuring sustainability throughout the food chain.

Assurance of Sütaş's natural flavors, Farm to Table business model

Sütaş; It works with the mission of offering natural and delicious dairy products that improve the quality of life of its consumers and provide health and happiness. It integrates, monitors and supervises all production processes with the "From Farm to Table" integrated business model it created in order to fulfill this mission. It ensures that its cows are fed with healthy forage plants and natural feed produced in its own facilities, thus ensuring the reliability and naturalness of its products by obtaining quality milk with high nutritional value from healthy cows. It delivers its products to its consumers quickly, while preserving its freshness and naturalness, with its facilities located all over Turkey.

Emphasizing the critical importance of well-cared for, healthy animals in terms of raw milk quality, ensuring the reliability of products and productivity, Duygu Yılmaz said, "We continue our practices within the scope of the EU's animal welfare legislation in our farms. All our farms have a "Disease-Free and EU Approved Business Certificate". We are committed to closely following and implementing new regulations within the scope of the EU's Green Deal Farm to Fork Strategy by 2025." he said.

Planning to offer new products in the coming period, Sütaş aims to share more content on its packaging that informs and raises awareness of its consumers about the nutritional value and reliability of its products.

It continues its investments to spread the abundance of milk

Sütaş's "From Farm to Table" business model; It is a "Regional Development Model" with its socio-economic impacts and inclusiveness. Bingöl Integrated Facilities investment, which will be Sütaş's 4th integrated facility after Karacabey, Aksaray and Tire, is also progressing rapidly. According to the Bingöl Regional Impact Analysis Report, which was prepared in 2020 and comprehensively examines the effects of the investment on Bingöl and its surroundings, with the start of Sütaş's operations, the GDP in the region will increase by 40%, as well as developments that will significantly change the region, such as change in production technology, decrease in unemployment, improvement in workforce quality, increase in household incomes, cessation of out-migration, return of the qualified population, balancing in income distribution and acceleration of social and cultural transformation.

Contributes to the development of the dairy industry

Sütaş also contributes to the development of the sector by supporting the training of qualified manpower that the sector needs. Sütaş, which has been providing free training to 19,251 producers, students and entrepreneurs in its Training Centers since 1998 in order to make dairy farming more healthy and efficient in our country, aims to increase this figure to 23,000 by 2025.

It meets 84% of the energy needs of its production facilities with the renewable energy it produces from its waste

Stating that they process the fertilizers of their farms and the organic wastes of their factories in the biogas facilities located in their integrated facilities and turn them into renewable energy, Duygu Yılmaz said, "The amount of energy produced in our biogas facilities has reached the level of meeting 84% of the electricity needs of our production facilities. The amount of greenhouse gases we prevented from being released by producing renewable energy in our biogas facilities in 2020 was 75% more than the greenhouse gas emissions resulting from our production activities. Thus, 41,536 tons of gold standard certified "We have made carbon sales. We aim to produce 100% of our electricity needs in our renewable energy facilities in 2025. We will also support this goal with solar energy production." he said.

Enriches the soil with organic and organomineral fertilizers

Sütaş, which uses the output of biogas facilities as organic and organomineral fertilizer in the production of forage crops and contributes to the improvement of the organic structure of the soil, aims to add 50,000 tons of organic matter to the soil every year by 2025. Stating that the importance of enriching the soil in terms of organic matter content is understood more and more each day, Yılmaz stated that in the organic and organomineral fertilizer experiments they carried out, they detected increases of up to 15% in product yield and up to 40% in the organic matter content of the soil compared to their equivalents.

Recovers the water it uses

Stating that using water efficiently is among their priorities as well as their responsibilities, Yılmaz said, "We purify all the water we use in our facilities and return it to nature. We expanded the drip irrigation system, which we started using in 2015, to all of our plant production activities. In this way, we saved approximately 25-40% of water. By expanding the water efficiency studies we have carried out so far, we aim to increase the water use efficiency in our factories, farms and offices by 15% by 2025." spoke.
