Anadolu Efes Brings 2 Million Seed Balls Together with Nature
09 Mar 2021Anadolu Efes has signed a new collaboration with Ecording, a social enterprise that develops environmental technologies. With this collaboration, 2 million seed balls meet the soil through green bottled products as part of sustainability efforts. Seed ball shooting is carried out with ecoDrones in an area the size of a total of 35 football fields in Artvin and Mersin. Seed balls prepared by women living in rural areas and affected by income inequality due to climate change began to meet the soil during Forest Week.
With its positive value movement towards the environment, Anadolu Efes carries out sustainability studies in many areas, from product packaging to service delivery materials, from responsible use of natural resources to waste management, from reducing the use of plastic to contributing to the circular economy. In this context, collaborating with suppliers, universities and the entrepreneurship ecosystem, Anadolu Efes has signed a new project with the social enterprise Ecording to contribute to the fight against the climate crisis.
As part of its sustainability efforts, Anadolu Efes introduces 2 million seed balls to the soil in difficult areas where human hands cannot reach, through its green bottled products. The works will be carried out in areas determined by the General Directorate of Forestry in Mersin and Artvin. The first seed ball shooting started in Mersin during Forest Week. Within the scope of the Our Nature Special project, it is aimed to afforeste difficult areas the size of a total of 35 football fields with ecoDrones developed by Ecording inspired by birds.

Within the scope of the project, we introduce 2 million seed balls to the soil through our green bottled products to contribute to the fight against the climate crisis. We are excitedly waiting for these seeds to turn into forests.
As Anadolu Efes, another exciting work we will do with Ecording will be on R&D. We are preparing to collaborate on the use of malt grass, which is a by-product of our production process, in R&D studies aimed at ensuring that seeds adhere better to the soil.
