Environmentally conscious weekend
Within the framework of cooperation with adidas, tree planting was also planned to counter the carbon footprint created by the traffic created by marathon visitors to Bozcaada. The carbon footprint of people traveling from Geyikli pier to Bozcaada and from the island to Geyikli during the marathon weekend was calculated. The planting of an amount of trees corresponding to the carbon emissions caused by an average of 3 thousand people will be carried out by the ÇEVKO Foundation. Adidas also procured the materials used in all events and activations during the weekend of the half marathon, including the medals of the winners, from completely sustainable, recycled materials. During the fun weekend where sports and music came together, both adidas members and athletes participated in activities such as upcycling and personalization workshops and plogging.
