Important work from Migros in the field of sustainability

Migros is installing new generation systems that are more efficient and prevent gas leaks in cooling systems due to the consumption of refrigerant gases and electricity, which are the most important factors causing greenhouse gas emissions in its operations to combat climate change. It provides optimization by centrally controlling cooling, air conditioning and lighting systems to save electricity. They are working to reduce not only their own operations but also their indirect impacts. It circulates cold water in the store cabinets instead of gas. This system, patented by Migros, which uses gas only to cool the water and which it has started to spread in its stores, prevents gas leakage by 99 percent. Migros, which has been among the Climate Leaders 3 times to date, with its work in this field and reporting to the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) Climate Change and Water programs, has become one of the Water Leaders in 2020.
