Anadolu Efes published the first Integrated Report in its sector
Anadolu Efes, which has been disclosing its sustainability performance transparently to its stakeholders since 2010, took another important step in this journey and published its first integrated report. The report, inspired by the company's +1 Breath to the Sea project launched in 2022, includes the value it creates in financial and non-financial areas, its performance and progress in its goals. Anadolu Efes implemented projects worth approximately 61 million TL focusing on emission reduction and water efficiency in the 2022 reporting period. Within the framework of social impact investments, the company carried out 26 projects in 5 different focus areas. While women around the world earn approximately 20%* less than men, Anadolu Efes once again demonstrated with its independent assurance statement that it pays 'equal pay for equal work'.
Anadolu Efes shared its first integrated report and the latest developments in the +1 Breath to the Sea project at the event held on Sedef Island on June 8, Marmara Sea Day. The report prepared by Anadolu Efes with an integrated approach to thinking; It reveals its performance in financial and non-financial areas and its medium and long-term goals. In addition, the report also includes how the company creates value around Financial, Manufactured, Intellectual, Human, Natural and Social & Relational capital elements.
Stating that they are particularly excited that the integrated report is the first in its sector in Turkey, Anadolu Efes Beer Group President and CEO Can Çaka continued his words as follows: "As Anadolu Efes, we have positioned sustainability at the core of our parent company strategy since the day we were founded, and see it as an important part of our business model. Today, we continue our journey as the 9th largest beer company in the world and the 5th largest beer company in Europe. In addition, the performance of our company, which is a regional power, in financial terms." We consider it from a perspective beyond the definition of success. For us, creating value also means taking steps for the future focusing on environment, innovation, human and social impact. For this reason, we integrate sustainability into our decision-making mechanisms and all our activities and constantly work to create long-term value for all our stakeholders. In order to move forward in a more focused and transparent manner, we decided to switch to integrated reporting, which is only implemented by a few companies both in our country and in the world. We also decided to obtain an independent assurance statement to confirm the accuracy of the data in our reports and further increase reliability. We care.”
The design of the report was inspired by the +1 Breath to the Sea project
Anadolu Efes implements social benefit-oriented projects with the aim of increasing its social impact every year. The design of the integrated report published by the company for the first time this year was inspired by the "+1 Breath to the Sea" project, which Anadolu Efes implemented last year in cooperation with the Association for the Protection of Marine Life, and thus the underwater world. The +1 Breath to the Sea project aims to protect corals, which are described as the rainforests of the seas and are in danger of extinction, and to enrich the underwater life and biodiversity in the Marmara Sea. A monitoring station was established this year to monitor and record the impact of the corals transplanted within the scope of the project. Underwater images were instantly shared with stakeholders at the report launch held on Marmara Sea Day.
