“Gca Recycling Detectives Primary School Education Project” Started with the Cooperation of Çevko Foundation and Gca

The "GCA Recycling Detectives Primary School Education Project", implemented in cooperation with ÇEVKO Foundation and GCA, started to be implemented at Kütahya Ağaçköy Primary School. Within the scope of the project, students are informed about the importance of protecting the environment and recycling, and it is aimed to raise awareness of students about packaging waste.
The "GCA Recycling Detectives Primary School Education Project", which was implemented in partnership with GCA, which has been making a difference in the glass packaging industry with its value-added products since 2015, and ÇEVKO Foundation, Türkiye's leading organization in the recycling of packaging waste, started to be implemented for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades at Kütahya Ağaçköy Primary School. Face-to-face training was provided within the scope of the project, which aims to raise students' awareness about the environment and packaging waste from a young age. In the project planned to contribute to leaving a sustainable future for future generations, raw materials used in glass production and recyclable waste were introduced to students and recycling booklets were presented as gifts.
“We struggle to protect our nature”
GCA General Manager Dr. said, "Fulfilling our basic responsibility towards nature and other living creatures by preventing environmental pollution is of great importance for our world." Abdullah Gayret continued his speech with the following words: "Gürok Group, which stands out with its contribution to education and the environment, launched the Rıza Güral Education First Scholarship Fund for the Future with the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV) last January. Within the scope of the fund, non-refundable scholarship support will be provided to 34 students studying in Kütahya and Antalya in the first phase. Acting with the awareness of keeping nature and natural resources clean within the Gürok Group, we provide a more livable life for our precious children, who are our future." "We continue to take responsibility to leave the world behind. We strive to protect our nature with our glass packaging production, always prioritizing the environment and people," he said.
“What is important in environmental cleaning is environmental awareness, and this awareness is achieved through education.”
Abdullah Gayret said the following about the "GCA Recycling Detectives Primary School Education Project": "As GCA, we carry out studies that are beneficial to nature and the environment with our sustainability projects. We know that glass helps us protect our environment, soil and nature, as it is a material that can be recycled infinitely. Cleaning the environment, protecting our vital spaces and protecting the green is our common responsibility. A clean environment creates a clean society. The important thing in environmental cleanliness is environmental awareness, and this awareness is achieved through education. With this project, I hope that students will increase their awareness of recycling and grow up as individuals who are environmentally conscious and aware of their social responsibilities.”
“We need to recycle our packaging waste that we cannot reuse”
Sharing his views on the project, ÇEVKO Foundation Secretary General Mete İmer said, "As ÇEVKO Foundation, we set out thirty-two years ago to protect our environment by saying 'Packaging waste is not garbage!'. At this point, with the new developments in the world, we have reached the saying 'Waste is a resource!'. In order to achieve the 'Zero Waste' target in our world with increasing population and decreasing resources, we need to produce less waste, reuse packaging, and recycle packaging waste that we cannot reuse.
