The recycling industry met in Fuarizmir between 12-14 May for a livable future. We-Cycle Environment and Recycling Technologies Fair, held for the first time this year, made history as the first fair that brought together the private sector and local governments in the field of recycling. At the WeCycle Fair, where projects of many municipalities regarding the environment and environmental technologies were exhibited, light was shed on the future of cities with the recycling projects introduced.
We-Cycle Environment and Recycling Technologies Fair, hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and held in cooperation with İZFAŞ and EFOR Fuarcılık, with the aim of preventing, reducing and separating and recycling waste in the city in order to leave a livable environment for future generations, hosted visitors from 28 countries and 41 cities for three days.
“Izmir is a city that adopts recycling as a principle”
Underlining that Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has carried out many studies in order to become a metropolis in harmony with nature, İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Buyer said, "As İZFAŞ, we brought a new fair to Izmir with Efor Fuarcılık. Izmir is a city that adopts the issue of recycling as a principle. This fair is the first fair in Turkey that brings together local governments and private companies on recycling and environment. WeCycle is Izmir's recycling and waste fair." "It was a fair where their work on disposal was showcased. We also want the fair to be a gateway to export abroad for products and technological solutions in the field of recycling. The most important issue is the separation of waste at its source... If we can do this, it is possible to use waste as a resource." He said.
“This was a beginning and it was a success beyond expectations”
Efor Fuarcılık General Manager Nuray Eyigele İşleyen stated that they were proud to close the fair with success beyond expectations and said, "In this project we carried out jointly with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality company İZFAŞ, many companies such as the leading recycling, renewable energy, waste water and pollution control companies of the sector took part in our fair. Waste management, zero waste projects, recycling technologies, environmentally friendly products and applications were exhibited at this fair. This was a beginning and a success far beyond expectations." “I congratulate everyone who contributed to our fruitful cooperation.” he said.

Everything about recycling and technologies was introduced at the fair, which was held with a total of 120 participants from Türkiye, Germany and Romania. The fair, which was full of seminars, exhibitions, workshops, climate congress and recycling competition attended by valuable names of the sector, hosted visitors from 28 countries and 41 provinces in three days. Professional visitors from abroad saw Izmir and Turkey's recycling technologies on site and signed commercial agreements.
ÇEVKO Foundation was also at the fair
ÇEVKO Foundation developed the project "Where Should I Throw It?", developed within the scope of ÇEVKO Digital Solutions, which offers a holistic solution to the Zero Waste Management obligations of municipalities. He was at the We-Cycle Recycling Technologies Fair to introduce his software. "Where Should I Throw It?", which was introduced to the participants using three-dimensional virtual reality technologies. The program attracted great attention. Within the scope of the fair, "Where Should I Post It?" A panel was also held with the participation of officials from local governments using the program, waste management companies and sales points benefiting from the program's services. Panelists shared their experiences in the panel and also answered questions from the participants.
