Acting with the vision of 100 percent sustainability, Tchibo organized the "Very Clean Movement" event in cooperation with ÇEVKO Foundation and Maltepe Municipality within the scope of Turkey Environment Week and June 5 World Environment Day. The volunteer group consisting of Tchibo employees, including company managers, collected 370 kilos of waste in 1 hour. 185 kilos of this waste was recycled. With the work carried out, carbon emissions equivalent to a car's two round trips from Istanbul to Bursa were prevented.
Moving forward with the goal of becoming a sustainable company, Tchibo has signed a new project to draw attention to waste management and environmental cleanliness within the scope of Turkey Environment Week and June 5 World Environment Day. The company, which implemented the event called "Very Clean Action from Tchibo" together with ÇEVKO Foundation (Environmental Protection and Packaging Waste Utilization Foundation) and Maltepe Municipality, carried out cleaning work in Maltepe Başıbüyük Forest within the scope of the project. A large group of volunteers, including Tchibo Türkiye senior managers, collected the waste on the route determined by Maltepe Municipality.
“We think about our planet at every step”
Thanking Tchibo volunteers, ÇEVKO Foundation and Maltepe Municipality for participating in the event, Tchibo Turkey General Manager Hasan Ulutürk emphasized that Tchibo is a brand that acts with the vision of sustainability at every stage of the value chain, from production to sales. Ulutürk said: "I think that the 'Tchibo Very Clean Movement' project implemented by our colleagues is a meaningful awareness work in terms of reminding us of both our individual and corporate responsibilities. As Tchibo, we are aware of our responsibility towards nature in every step we take towards becoming a 100% sustainable company. We take every step by thinking about the future of our planet and humanity. With this perspective, we will continue to be a good company."
