The cooperation protocol regarding the "Recycling Testing and Research Center" (GETAM), which was implemented with the acceptance of the application to the Istanbul Development Agency Innovative Istanbul Financial Support Program, with the contributions of A.Ş., was signed at the ceremony.
GETAM, established on the basis of international and national standards and accreditation rules, is a first in its field in Turkey. At the center, tests can be carried out in many areas, from whether the packaging is recyclable to its compostability, from the amount of recycled material it contains to its biodegradability. GETAM, which adds a new dimension to sustainability-focused Public-Academy-Industry collaborations, was launched with the contributions of Coca-Cola İçecek and Unilever and the support of the Istanbul Development Agency Innovative Istanbul Financial Support Program.
The cooperation protocol regarding GETAM was signed by YTU Rector Prof. at the ceremony held at the center located in Yıldız Technical University (YTU) Davutpaşa Campus. Dr. Tamer Yılmaz and YTU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. It was signed by Bestami Özkaya, ÇEVKO Foundation Chairman of the Board of Directors Okyar Yayalar and ÇEVKO Foundation Secretary General Mete İmer. I hope that the Recovery Testing and Research Center GETAM, which was implemented in cooperation with the ÇEVKO Foundation and Yıldız Technical University, will be beneficial for both the business world and the scientific world. The main goal of the center is to create an environmentally friendly society by reducing waste and using resources more efficiently. "Thanks to the technologies developed at the center, recycling of waste becomes more efficient and economical. In addition, the amount of waste is reduced by the use of by-products generated in the recycling processes. The studies carried out at the center cover issues such as zero waste, circular economy, recycling and sustainable development.
