Applications for the “Green Dot Industry Awards” started on March 4, 2024.
Applications for the "Green Dot Industry Awards", which we organized for the seventh time this year as ÇEVKO Foundation and attended by leading companies from Turkey and the world, started on March 4, 2024.
Applications to the award process, to which all companies with a Yeşil Nokta Brand Sublicense Agreement can participate, will continue until 17:00 on Friday, July 5, 2024.
What is the Green Dot?
Green Dot was first used in Germany in 1990-1991 to collect packaging waste separately at the source. In 1995, PRO Europe (Packaging Recovery Organization Europe) was established to ensure the use of the "Green Dot" brand throughout Europe.
Green Dot Today;
- It is a valid application in 31 countries.
- Used by more than 150,000 organizations.
- It is included in 400 billion packages of packaging per year.
- It covers 540 million consumers.
- It is a registered trademark in more than 140 countries.
The Green Dot mark on the packaging indicates that the organization that puts that product on the market fulfills its legal obligations regarding recovery and makes a financial contribution to the recycling system.
Right to Green Spot in Turkey belongs to ÇEVKO Foundation
ÇEVKO Foundation received the right to use Green Dot in Turkey with the contract it signed with PRO Europe in 2003. Today, nearly 1400 companies in Turkey use the Yeşil Nokta brand.
Consumers Know and Care about Green Dot
According to the research conducted by ÇEVKO Foundation, 7 out of 10 consumers recognize the Green Dot sign. 1 in 3 people pay attention to the fact that the products carry the Green Dot when shopping. Companies using Green Dot in research:
- Respectful to the environment,
- High sense of responsibility,
- Supporting recycling
defined as companies.
Yeşil Nokta Industry Awards Participation Information
ÇEVKO Foundation organizes these awards in order to popularize the Yeşil Nokta brand, appreciate companies that take responsibility, and encourage sustainability efforts.
Awards Calendar:
- Applications Started: 4 March 2024
- Application Deadline: July 5, 2024
- 1. Jury Meeting:July 23, 2024
- 2. Jury Meeting:20 August 2024
- Award Ceremony: 17 December 2024
Applications will be received in two classes, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Large-Scale Enterprises, and will be evaluated in three categories:
1. Prevention Practices in Packaging
Innovative practices in packaging such as raw material, energy and resource reduction, reuse and use of recycled materials are evaluated.
2. Waste Management System and Applications
Waste reduction, zero waste studies, separation at source, recovery and disposal practices are discussed.
3. Environmental Social Responsibility Practices
Sustainable projects carried out voluntarily for the benefit of society and the environment are evaluated.
