The 2nd Green Dot Student Awards and the 12th Green Dot Press Awards, organized within the scope of ÇEVKO Foundation's traditional Green Dot Awards, were awarded at the ceremony held on December 19, 2023.

The Green Dot Press Awards, given by ÇEVKO Foundation for the 12th time this year, and the Green Dot Student Awards, given for the 2nd time, were awarded at the ceremony held on December 19, 2023.

Green Dot Press Awards are given to media organizations and journalists who prioritize environmental news and inform the public about recycling throughout 2023. The Green Dot Student Awards, organized this year with the main sponsorship of GCA and the bronze sponsorship support of Coca-Cola İçecek and Uludağ İçecek, aim to encourage university students to develop unique environmentally friendly products, applications and projects in the fields of packaging design, waste management and social responsibility, and to ensure university-industry cooperation.

ÇEVKO Foundation Secretary General Mete İmer, in his speech at the award ceremony, said that the "Green Dot" is an indicator of expanded producer responsibility and that economic enterprises; He shared that this means that they make a financial contribution to the system regarding the recycling of the packaging of the products they put on the market, and that the only authority of the brand in Turkey is the ÇEVKO Foundation. Stating that Green Dot covers more than 540 million consumers and that the number of packages marked with the Green Dot brand exceeds 400 billion every year, İmer announced that the number of companies in Turkey that have received a Green Dot license from the ÇEVKO Foundation has reached 1,335 as of 2023. İmer said, "Consumer research on the Green Dot reveals that 7 out of every 10 people recognize the Green Dot sign, and 1 out of every 3 people who know the Green Dot pay attention to the fact that the product they purchase has a Green Dot. We aim to reward and encourage exemplary work in the field of environmentally friendly responsible production and consumption with our traditional Green Dot Awards, which we give under the main headings of Industry, Press and Student."

İmer concluded his remarks by saying, "Green Dot Student Awards were determined with the contributions of our valuable jury members who work devotedly and meticulously. Green Dot Student Awards

At the ÇEVKO Foundation Green Dot Student Awards ceremony, 12 projects from 17 different universities were deemed worthy of the Green Dot Student Award in 3 different categories.

In the Packaging Eco-design Category, Hacer Karateke, a student of Ondokuz Mayıs University Industrial Design Department, won the first prize with his "E-turn" project, Ekin Yüksel, an Industrial Design Master's student of Eskişehir Technical University, won the second prize with his project "Tudi", Fatma Akkan, a student of the Department of Industrial Design from Istanbul Technical University, won the third prize with his project "Lutri", and the incentive award was given to Elif Elvan Atagün and Hatice, students of Istanbul Aydın University, Textile and Fashion Design. Kübra Büyükbaş received it with her project “Build-Break-As”.

The first prize in the Waste Management System and Applications Category was won by Erciyes University Pharmacy students Kaan Kalaycı, Beyza Nur Özdamar and Ege University student Anıl Aladağ with the "We Waste" project. In the category where two second prizes were given, Mersin University Architecture students Rabia Akgül and Bilal Erin with the "E-transformation" project and Altınbaş University Pharmacy students Çağrı Budak, Serdar Karaca and Nisa Merve Demircan with the "Phytocycle" project shared this rank. Eskişehir Technical University Industrial Design Master's student Ekin Yüksel received the third prize with her "Bito" project, while Environmental Engineering students Mehmetali Andaç Beylikçi and Nargül Kübra Taşyıldız from Izmir Institute of Technology received the incentive award with their "Textile Waste Recovery Project".

In the Environment-Themed Social Responsibility Practices Category, Acıbadem University Pharmacy students Ezgi Sevim, İdil Işıkay, Şevval Günbay and Zülal Özmaden won first place with their "Acugençlik Social Responsibility Project", and Istanbul Technical University Environmental Engineering students Özlem Çolapkulu, Zeliha Sude Doğan, Osman Dündar, Sıla Karabulut and Buğra Bayır won second place with their "Tears of Water" project, and "Her" Yaşar University Industrial Engineering students İrem Özçelik, Begüm Görücü and Duru Selin Yılmaz won the third prize with the project "Child is a Seed".

Green Dot Press Awards are given to media organizations, journalists and people who have gained the appreciation of the society who prioritize environmental news and inform the public about recycling throughout 2023.

In 2023, it won awards for "What Kind of an Economy" in the Newspaper category, "NTV" in the Television category, "Haberler.com" in the Internet News Site category, "İhlas News Agency" in the News Agency category, "Para" Magazine in the Magazine category, and "ST Endüstri Radyo" in the Radio category.
